From Suzy’s heart…
Don said, “For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21.
My precious husband, best friend, and ministry partner finished his earthly race on July 14, 2022, and took his last breath as I was holding his hand and singing to him. It was a very sacred moment.
I was so grateful to God that He allowed Don to return from Africa in time for us to share several special occasions before the Lord called him Home. Don always said we had had a “great run” on this side of Eternity. We were extremely privileged to share so many adventures in life together as we followed the path the Lord laid out for us, the most significant being 30 years ago when he bent his knee at the foot of the cross and submitted his life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ as his personal Lord & Savior. Don then served the Lord with reckless abandon while working in dangerous and difficult places. Many called him an Indiana Jones of Missions. I always thought that was a very appropriate description of my man. As the old hymn says, he “Loved to Tell the Story of Jesus and His Love”; teaching and training others to have the faith and confidence to do the same.
Equipping Ministries International, Inc. (EMI) will continue to reach out, “Giving a Hand-up, not a Hand-out” to faithful men and women who love Jesus, living in difficult and dangerous places, as we trust God through our faithful Ministry Partners.
